Comfrey has been known for many years by organic gardeners, herbalists and holistic therapists for its many benefits. It contains numerous minerals, vitamins and phytochemicals allantoin and tannins which are antioxidants found in the leaves and roots of the plant. These help to form new skin cells by promoting healing of injuries.   It contains Allantoin, which is known to help cell regeneration.   The leaves also contain rosmarininc acid which helps reduce any inflammation that you may be experiencing.

In medieval times, comfrey plant extract was used to heal fractured bones. Today it is also used for fractures, strains and broken bones. It also known to help with the pain associated with osteoarthritis. Comfrey plant extract is also used to treat many skin conditions including acne dermatitis, psoriasis and sunburn.


Fractures
Comfrey bone healing properties were discovered in ancient Greek times.

Osteoarthritis

Anti-Inflammatory Properties: The very soothing and cooling effects of this essential oil calms and pacifies all sorts of inflammation. It is particularly good at providing relief from inflammation in both the circulatory and nervous system. It is also found to be an appropriate treatment for inflammation caused by sun stroke, dehydration and loo, which is the name given to very hot and dry winds prevalent during summers in the dry regions of India and neighboring countries.

Vertiver oil efficiently stops the growth of Staphylococcus Aureus, the bacteria responsible for causing sepsis and eliminates them. It is totally safe for this oil to be applied externally on wounds or taken orally in order to protect wounds as well as internal organs from sepsis.

Sedative: The essential oil of vetiver is a well known sedative. It sedates nervous irritations, afflictions, convulsions and emotional outbursts such as anger, anxiety, epileptic and hysteric attacks, restlessness, and nervousness. It even benefits patients that suffer from insomnia.
